A block of 10 sheets of cotton medium grain universally primed canvas on a support of a canvas panel. The sheets are glued on both sides to avoid the problem of canvas wrinkling when painting.

Oval and round stretched canvases, which have been a part of P.E.R. production for many years, have a rigid 10mm thick stretcher made in medium density in a single piece, which guarantees stability. The canvas is stretched with machines of our invention and set on the stretcher with thermo-fusible glue in order to obtain a perfect finishing, without staples or nails. In addition to the usual gold leaf frames, the natural ones give the artist the possibility to personalise also the frame. All of them are available in different sizes and they perfectly fit to their stretchers thanks to their high rabbet that characterizes them.

For artists looking for unusual sizes, our Company can provide round, ovals or cambered outsized stretched canvases on a given template. A wide range of canvas can be set on these spruce wood stretchers.

Miniature lovers have the possibility of painting on real stretched canvases which have reduced sizes and are carefully and skilfully handmade. Frames made of natural fir-wood, created to be combined with these small sizes, can be personalised by the artist who may extend his painting also to the frame itself.Miniature stretched canvases vary from 4x6cm to 10x10cm. These stretchers are set with fine grain 100% cotton (ref.18569). Frames are available for every range of stretchers. Their canvas is universally primed, suitable for every kind of pictorial technique: oil, acrylic, tempera and mixed technique.

For our stretched canvases and stretchers in kits we only use European spruce wood. Accordingly to the different sizes of the stretchers, our Company offers a wide range of strip sections. In the last years we have introduced the lamellar system for the strip sections 80x30mm and 100x43mm to grant more strength and resistance to torsion. These sections are mainly suitable for big sizes. To have a complete idea, take a look at the table on the side.

To satisfy all the customers’ requests, we can also provide outsized stretchers in kit complete with bars/cross bars and wedges and ready to be assembled. Our coatings: universal priming suitable for all pictorial techniques, the classic oil and gesso priming or the clear priming, the valuable Leonardesca canvas (its receipt is secretly kept) and the new inkjet canvases with glossy and matt preparation for water based or solvent/ecosolvent based colors.
